The history of the classic Italian furniture company Andrea Fanfani began in 1973. For over 50 years, the company has been researching, designing, and manufacturing furniture components in the purest Florentine tradition. Surrounded by the art of Florence, Andrea Fanfani learned the finest craftsmanship techniques with classic Italian furniture and immersed himself daily in the beauty that left a lifelong mark on him.
Craftsmanship Knowledge
The exquisite decorations of the Florentine school transformed classic furniture into exceptional works of art: thanks to sculptures and gold leaf, traditional Italian wooden furniture gained an elegant, soft touch filled with the vitality of artisan workshops in the Florentine district of San Frediano.
Each piece of furniture is crafted and decorated exclusively by hand, with the utmost care, following the ancient culture of Florentine workshops, which were tasked with decorating and furnishing the Renaissance palaces that Florence is famous for throughout Europe.
The Magic of Solid Gold
The gilding technique uses only 23-karat gold leaf, applied exclusively by hand, following the Florentine “guazzo” technique (gilding with gouache), an ancient decorative art dating back to the 13th century. The final effect provides a stunning shine and durability.
