To create this beautiful image, De Robertis drew inspiration from the natural landscapes of French painter Gustave Colbert, who was also an excellent landscape artist, considering nature one of his main sources of inspiration. Between the rocks, free of vegetation, a stream flows through the middle of the terrain. On the right, a small waterfall descends from a rocky spur and falls, forming a small basin between the rocks.
