Ikunico has been around since 2017, when the owner opened his own artisan workshop dedicated to leather processing, continuing his family tradition inherited from his father Giuseppe. The founder's workshop is located in Gubbio, Umbria, a stone city where it seems time has stood still. All products are made from genuine Italian vegetable-tanned leather, certified and guaranteed to originate from Italy. The exceptionally high-quality leather and acid-free paper, also handmade by the paper masters at Fabriano, embody the essence of the premium brand.

OUR CITY
All handcrafted IKUNICO products are created here and nowhere else. This is no coincidence but a choice and a calling. Inspired by the roots and destiny of this city, with its history and future, it is a theater: a stone city where time seems to have stopped, Gubbio in Umbria, the heart of Italy. With a strong character and a solid sense of identity rooted in memory, resisting forgetfulness, rigor, and fleeting modernity. In an almost suspended and static dimension of time and space, the fabric of the medieval city remains untouched, with its narrow streets, towers, churches, bell towers, buildings, and ancient fountains...

City and artisan workshop

The city itself and the shop share and shape the same spirit of the place, composed of light, materials, colors, and scents that are very unique. Unique and unrepeatable, just like the products created by the manufacturer. Light, tempered like a sword, bright and pure, reflects in the clean lines of the city’s buildings. Curved and slanted, it carries the time passing through the density of warm and lively leather.

Behind and beyond them, there are the quiet mountains, which on the plots of land change with the seasons, illuminated by vivid shades of red and brown, permeated with the scent of earth. These are the same colors and scents that form the substance of leather goods. All luxury products are made from certified and guaranteed genuine Italian leather, tanned exclusively with natural tannins derived from plants. This process requires patience and experience, entrusted to skilled tanners from the consortium of authentic Italian vegetable-tanned leathers. Natural leather dedicated to those seeking high quality and style. The interior is lined with acid-free lamellar paper or paper handmade by Fabriano Paper Masters, produced through a slow and labor-intensive process similar to that used over seven hundred years ago. Each piece is unique, with its own veins, tones, peculiarities, softness, and hardness, each with its own story, different from everything else.
