In the 1950s, as the modern rug designs by Sartori gained popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand embraced this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the world. In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so much that a headquarters was opened in China. A very important project was launched in 2008. From collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., a pioneering idea paved the way: using old rugs to create something entirely new and giving them a second life, in a fresh and youthful style. This gave birth to the Vintage Patchwork Carpet, which tells a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This results in a unique and very special rug, a blend of noble materials that perfectly fits modern environments and the needs of contemporary furniture.
