Sartori is an Italian manufacturer born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for high-quality design combined with ancient tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling beautiful rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, and later in 1920, a second in Rovigo, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, when Sartori’s innovative rug designs gained popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand seized this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the world. These luxurious rugs gained worldwide recognition, becoming coveted items in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so much that it became necessary to open a headquarters in China. An important project was launched in 2008. Following collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., the innovative idea paved the way: using old rugs to create something entirely new and giving them a second life, aligned with a fresh and youthful style. This is how the Vintage Patchwork Carpet was born, telling a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This results in a unique and very special rug, a blend of noble materials that perfectly suits contemporary environments and modern furniture needs.
All our rugs are entirely handcrafted using high-quality noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori. Today, Sartori is an international brand selling high-quality, valuable rugs worldwide and serving as a benchmark for Italian-designed rugs. The rugs are made from wool and banana silk.
