Sartori is an Italian manufacturer born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for good design and ancient tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling wonderful rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, and then in 1920, a second in Rovigo, for home furnishings. In the 1950s, when the modern design of Sartori rugs started gaining popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand embraced this trend and expanded its Italian market designs worldwide. These elegant rugs gained recognition across the globe, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so much that it required opening a headquarters in China. An important project was launched in 2008. Following a collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., a modern idea took shape: using old rugs to create something entirely new and giving them a second life, in line with a fresh and youthful style. This is how the Vintage Patchwork Carpet was born, telling a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This process results in a unique and very special rug, a blend of noble materials that perfectly fits modern environments and the needs of contemporary furniture.
All our rugs are handcrafted entirely using exceptionally noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori. Today, Sartori is an international company selling high-quality, valuable rugs worldwide and serving as a benchmark for Italian-made designer rugs. The rugs are made from wool and banana silk.
