Description

Surprise is the key to the entire art. The Mondadori headquarters remains one of Oscar Niemayer's most fascinating memories and serves as an inspiration for the contemporary Mondo cabinet. The heart and soul of this luxurious furniture piece are inspired by the original design: windows housing editorial offices and studios have taken the form of shelves that emerge as storage spaces.

Gold-colored glass tiles on the two towers create a more impressive contrast with the black lacquered legs that support them. Inside the modern Mondo cabinet, mirrored surfaces allow daylight to illuminate selected beverages.

Malabar Factory was established in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the collection of elegant furniture by World Architects. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory collections.

Malabar has left its mark at major international fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing.

Malabar furniture production originates from the Porto area, in northern Portugal, a region with a long and strong tradition of handcrafted products.

The identity of this prestigious brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.

International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted techniques, and space-inspired design create an explosive blend of elegant furniture.

Various techniques of working with natural wood produce incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.

Juicy and vivid hues dominate, significantly diverging from classic and stereotypical furniture.

Besides wood, the manufactory uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.

The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in bold furniture designs.

The company's name itself derives from the black pepper Malabar. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a daring sea route.

This remains true today, as Malabar continues to define very individual design boundaries and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, bold, and extremely exclusive.

And these are exactly the products we love and introduce on the My Luxury Products platform.

What raw materials does Malabar use in production?

The company employs the most luxurious types of wood, including: ebony, walnut, American walnut, oak, ironwood, elm, basswood, olive wood, bird’s eye, burl, poplar, satinwood, and ash.

Malabar also uses ancient lacquer techniques. First, copper, gold, silver, pink, and tiger-colored leaflets are applied, then lacquered.

The types of glass used by the manufacturer include: dark glass, smoked, gold, antique, and antique brown.

The marble varieties are diverse, including: Sahara, Gray Kenzo, Nero Marquina, Portoro, Gris Douro, Black Gold, Guatemala Verde, Tiger Skin, Ochre, Calacatta Vagli, Estremoz, Carrara Gold, Carrara, White Extremez, and Travertine.

Metals are selected based on efficiency and quality. High-quality premium metals include copper, stainless steel, and galvanized steel. Specifically: chrome, nickel-plated black brass, polished brass, gilded brass, polished copper, antique brass, silver brass, brushed brass, polished brushed brass, brass, and hammered polished copper.

We are happy to arrange a meeting and present all available materials about the Malabar brand. Our Luxury Products team will advise and select the most suitable furnishings and accessories for your interiors.
