Description

Majestic modern Lazuli coffee table featuring floral motifs across its entire surface. The modern tabletop showcases an inlay effect with floral patterns made from Kauri veneers, while each of the five-sided surfaces on the base is a contemporary mosaic of Portuguese tiles.

Just like the famous tile, the decorations on the geometric facets not only resemble jewelry but are actually crafted in the same way, with floral motifs cut from brass. Black glass against these metallic tiles creates a trendy contrast with this stunning piece of furniture.

Malabar was founded in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the elegant World Architects furniture collection. The company has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory collections.

Malabar has made its mark at major international fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing innovative design.

Malabar’s furniture production originates from the Porto region in northern Portugal, an area with a long-standing tradition of handcrafted products.

The identity of this unique brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.

International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that set such original companies apart. Emotion, handcrafted techniques, and space-inspired design create an explosive mix of elegant furniture.

The use of various techniques in working with natural wood results in incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of their design is the combination of neutral and black colors.

Vivid and striking colors dominate, significantly deviating from traditional and stereotypical furniture styles.

Besides wood, the brand uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.

The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in their bold furniture designs.

The company’s name itself derives from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history following the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices motivated Portuguese merchants to chart a daring sea route.

To this day, Malabar continues to define highly individual design boundaries and evokes strong emotions with its projects. Their creations are very liberated, seductive, bold, and extremely luxurious.

These are exactly the kinds of products we love and introduce on the My Luxury Products platform.

What raw materials does Malabar use in its production?

The company employs the most luxurious types of wood, including: ebony, walnut, American walnut, oak, ironwood, elm, basswood, olive wood, bird’s eye, irregular grain, poplar, satinwood, and ash.

Malabar also applies ancient lacquer techniques, first laying down sheets of copper, gold, silver, rose, and tiger’s eye, then sealing with lacquer.

The types of glass used by the manufacturer include: dark glass, smoked, gold, antique, and antique brown.

The marble varieties are diverse, including: Sahara, Gray Kenzo, Nero Marquina, Portoro, Gris Douro, Black Gold, Guatemala Verde, Tiger’s Eye, Ochre, Calacatta Vagli, Estremoz, Carrara Gold, Carrara, White Extremez, and Travertine.

Metals are selected based on efficiency and quality, with high-grade premium metals such as copper, stainless steel, and galvanized steel. Precise options include chrome, nickel-plated black brass, polished brass, gold-plated brass, polished copper, antique brass, silver brass, brushed brass, polished brass, and hammered polished copper.
