Description

Among the many stories the world has to tell, one of the longest and most beautiful is the embroidery with a wide range of techniques as vast as the countries of the world. Crochet, experienced over time, remains both a classic and modern element of current spaces and an inspiration for this contemporary table.

Crochet sewing is a tribute to the artisan's skill, as well as a unique sculptural piece with a crochet pattern, eternally finished on high-gloss lacquered wood, available in various colours. The Modern Crochet Table is a "new classic" of contemporary furniture and an elegant choice for stunning interiors.

The Malabar brand was founded in 2012, with the introduction of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the stylish World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory collections.

Malabar has left its mark at major international fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are some of the top venues for showcasing.

Malabar furniture production comes from the Porto area, in northern Portugal, a region with a long and strong tradition of handcrafted products.

The identity of this luxury brand is based on the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.

International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted work, and space-age design create an explosive mix of luxurious furniture.

The various techniques used in creating products from natural wood produce incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colours.

Juicy and vivid colours dominate, significantly deviating from traditional and stereotypical furniture.

Besides wood, the manufactory uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.

The Portuguese soul is very colourful and fascinating, clearly visible in the bold furniture designs.

The company's name itself derives from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a daring sea route.

That remains true today, as Malabar continues to set very individual design boundaries and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, daring, and extremely luxurious.

And these are exactly the products we love and introduce on the My Luxury Products platform.

What raw materials does Malabar use in its production?

The company employs the most refined types of wood, including: ebony, walnut, American walnut, oak, ironwood, ash, basswood, olive wood, bird’s eye, burl, poplar, satinwood, and ash.

Malabar also uses ancient lacquer techniques, first applying sheets of copper, gold, silver, pink, or tiger’s eye, then lacquering.

The types of glass used by the manufacturer include: dark glass, smoked, gold, antique, and antique brown.

The marbles vary and include: Sahara, grey Kenzo, Nero Marquina, Portoro, Gris Douro, Black Gold, Guatemala Verde, Tiger’s Eye, Ochre, Calacatta Vagli, Estremoz, Carrara Gold, Carrara, White Extreme, and Travertine.

Metals are selected based on efficiency and quality. High-quality premium metals such as copper, stainless steel, and galvanized steel are used. Specifically: chrome, nickel-plated black brass, polished brass, gilded brass, polished copper, antique brass, silver brass, brushed brass, polished brushed brass, brass, and hammered polished copper.

We would be happy to arrange a meeting and present all available materials about the Malabar brand. Our Luxury Products team will advise and select the most suitable furnishings and accessories for your interiors.
