The company was established in the late 1980s, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship. They prefer to use Himalayan wool from local sheep for production. These sheep graze at altitudes above 4200 meters above sea level, and their wool is rich in lanolin. This extraordinary feature makes Odegard Carpets rugs more resistant to dirt.
Vivid colors result from manual processing and dyeing. The inspiration for the patterns on the rugs combines Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many designs draw from the shapes of tropical leaves or the shades of the setting sun over the Himalayan mountain range.
All Odegard Carpets rugs are handmade from silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is entirely natural, utilizing organic materials such as nuts, roots, and saffron, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
