Odegard Carpets was established in 1987, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship. The carpets are often made using Himalayan wool. This wool comes from sheep grazing at altitudes above 14,000 feet above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, which makes these carpets more resistant to dirt.
Vivid colors are achieved through hand processing and dyeing. Inspiration for the carpet designs combines Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many patterns are inspired by tropical leaf shapes or the hues of the setting sun over the Himalayan peaks.
All products from this company are handmade from silk and Himalayan wool yarns. Wool dyeing is a fully natural process that uses only organic materials such as nuts, roots, or saffron, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
