The brand emerged in the late 1980s, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship. It often uses Himalayan wool sourced from the fleece of local sheep. These sheep graze at altitudes above 4200 meters above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, making Odegard Carpets rugs more resistant to dirt.
Intense colors are the result of manual processing and dyeing. Inspirations for rug production include a blend of Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and – as in this case – nature. Many motifs are inspired by tropical leaf shapes or the colors of the setting sun over the majestic Himalayas.
All Odegard Carpets products are handmade from carefully selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is natural, utilizing organic materials (such as nuts, roots, or saffron), while maintaining the highest quality standards.
