Description

Golden and crystal 10-point chandelier, a significant fixture for a living room from the 1950s, featuring a cage construction made of 5 columns crafted from brass pipes, shaped into volutes and decorated with welded cast leaves. The entire brass structure was originally gilded, preserving its original finish. At the base, an additional 5 arms start from the back, leading to five candles, which combined with the candles on the columns create a total of 10 points of light with E14 sockets and matching crystal plates.

In the central part, there is a crystal spike topped with a faceted sphere descending from above.

The entire chandelier is adorned with almond-shaped crystals and flat rhombus drops arranged in octagonal patterns. It operates with the original electrical system.

Luxurious antique furniture and accessories can be an excellent idea for decorating our interiors. Today, there is a growing number of enthusiasts of high-quality vintage products that possess a distinct character and soul. This is a nod to history, craftsmanship, and the design of classic and timeless furniture. There are many different styles in antique furniture, each with its own distinctive features.

Many styles characterize antique furniture, but a few key ones stand out. Eclectic furniture dates back to the 19th century, during the reign of the Biedermeier style. Its early variations include neo-Gothic, Gothic, Rococo, Louis Philippe style, and finally the Victorian English style. By the end of the century, these styles evolved into pseudo-classicism, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.

Empire-style furniture and accessories date from the period between the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Everything was influenced by Napoleon’s reign, which imposed a resemblance to Roman and Greek decorative motifs.

Neoclassical furniture reflects the Louis XVI style, which also strongly references ancient architecture. Noteworthy are antique products in Rococo and Louis XV styles. Next is Baroque, derived from the Portuguese word 'barocco'—meaning an irregularly developed pearl. These were highly ornate pieces designed to exude splendor and play a significant role in luxury. Materials were selectively chosen to emphasize the grandeur of these items.

Today, we can observe how much the Baroque style influenced modern classical furniture, which is often designed with a strong resemblance to the historical period. The Renaissance style also left a significant mark, flourishing in the 15th and 16th centuries and greatly impacting furniture design. Renaissance furniture was quite heavy and robust, using brown stains, cornices, sturdy bases, and relief decorations. These products were quite distinctive but also opened new possibilities, such as the construction of credenzas and broadly defined chest furniture. Mythology and ancient themes were also popular, with supports and legs often taking animal forms.

Lion paws, eagle heads—these are common motifs in Renaissance-style furniture. Currently, many global brands reproduce such furniture inspired by Italian and French artisans, demonstrating admiration and respect for the history of the most beautiful Renaissance antiques. It’s important to remember that furniture styles varied by country, each with its own character. This is especially relevant when searching for elegant antiques suitable for your interior.

The key aspect of elite antique furniture is originality. Ultimately, this matters most to the buyer, as the market is flooded with counterfeits. Luxury Products provides documentation confirming the authenticity of each item, matching its description and photos. We also have access to art appraisers, historians, and experts from around the world.
