Named after the literary alter ego of Maximilian I, Freydal is the largest surviving tournament book from late medieval times, inscribed on the UNESCO Memory of the World program. This publication from the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna commemorates the 500th anniversary of Maximilian's death, featuring for the first time all 255 miniatures in gold and silver, along with an introductory essay and explanatory texts.
