This wool comes from the fleece of local sheep grazing at over 4200 meters above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, making these rugs more resistant to dirt.
Interesting colors result from manual processing and dyeing. Creators draw inspiration from many elements, starting from Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and ending with the surrounding nature. Many motifs are inspired by the shapes of tropical leaves or the shades of the setting sun over the snowy peaks of the Himalayas.
The rugs are entirely handmade from carefully selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is completely natural, utilizing only organic materials (nuts, roots, or saffron).
