Description

In 1966, Ferrari released the 275 GTB/C on a completely new chassis designed by Mauro Foghieri for a dual-purpose racing car. Designated as Tipo 590A, it was lighter and more powerful than the standard 275 chassis. Ferrari’s racing division in Maranello built a total of twelve 275 GTB/C Scaglietti Berlinetta Competizione cars, each featuring a relatively sensual bodywork characteristic of Pinifarina designs from that era.

To allow for racing tire clearance (7” x 15” at the front and 7.5” x 15” at the rear), the wheel arches are widened, making the GTB/C body wider than the standard GTB, especially at the rear where the fenders extend behind the doors. The aluminum body shell is also coated with a layer of 0.028 inches (21 gauge) thickness, only half as thick as in the normal GTB.

Eight of the twelve GTB/Cs have left-hand drive, and two, chassis numbers 9067 and 9085, are equipped with cast alloy wheels and Dunlop tires, similar to our M-210. To integrate the transmission with the rear axle in the 275 GTB/C, Ferrari used transaxles with needle bearings for the first time. There is no cooling fan; the natural air intake, along with the water radiator mounted behind the substantial oil cooler, maintains everything at a cool temperature even during endurance racing conditions. The dry sump lubrication system allows the engine to sit lower and further forward, improving weight distribution. Power comes from the Tipo 213 Competition V-12 engine with a capacity of 3286 cc and three Weber 40 DF13 carburetors. It produces 280 horsepower at 7700 rpm, with many engine parts cast from Elektron, a magnesium alloy, to reduce weight.

Finally, the interior of the 275 GTB/C is built from rear mounts, and its rear section is reinforced to prevent flexing under impact. With an impressive racing record spanning decades, the 275 GTB/C will be remembered and honored as one of Ferrari’s last true racing cars. For many Ferrari enthusiasts, the 275 GTB/C shares the same qualities that make GTO highly sought after.

Information about Classic Model Cars (CMC)

Exclusive products combined with the highest quality finish give us the hallmark of the German brand Classic Model Cars. This is a true homage to handcrafted products that impress with their unique elegance and luxury.

CMC is one of the leading companies producing die-cast models of vintage cars. The company creates classic and collector’s models using authentic materials and fabrics.

Since 1995, CMC has operated its own manufacturing facility in China with highly skilled engineers and staff. After months of research, they produce a variety of classic car models, assembled by hand from over 1800 individual parts. The brand uses high-quality materials to fully preserve the “faithfulness to the original” of each vehicle model.

The company focuses on all major and popular collector scales: 1:12, 1:18, 1:24, 1:43. The first model produced by the company was in 1:24 scale — the iconic Mercedes-Benz SSK from 1930. It was built in 1995 and has won numerous prestigious awards.

Each component is carefully assembled by hand. Instruments on the dashboard are mounted separately. The seats are covered with fabric or leather. The flooring is laid inside the interior and in the trunk. The smallest details are faithfully replicated according to the original plans of each vehicle.
