Description

Finished in racing green BP color, the chassis 3767GT was originally owned by David Piper, a racing driver who competed in Formula 1 and Formula 2 and was chased by him, but he was disappointed with single-seater racing and decided to switch to sports car racing with the 250 GTO in 1962. By the end of the same year, he achieved direct victories in the 9-hour Kyalami race and the Angola Grand Prix.

At the beginning of the next season, this car was sold to the United States, although Piper still occasionally drove it together with the new owner Ed Cantrell. After a week of speed at Nassau in 1964, it was withdrawn from contemporary racing and in 1974, it was acquired by the current owner. In recent years, it has regularly appeared at the Goodwood Revival. CMC replicated this 250 GTO with right-hand drive in the distinctive BP livery.

About the Classic Model Cars (CMC) brand

Stylish products combined with the highest quality finish make us think of the German brand Classic Model Cars. It’s a true homage to handcrafted products that impress with their unique elegance and luxury.

CMC is one of the leading companies producing miniature vintage cars. The company creates classic and collector’s models using authentic materials and fabrics.

Since 1995, CMC has had its own manufacturing facility with highly qualified engineers and staff in China. The result of months of research is a variety of classic car models, assembled by hand from over 1800 individual parts. The brand uses high-quality materials to fully preserve the “faithfulness to the original” of each vehicle model.

The company focuses on all major and popular collector scales: 1:12, 1:18, 1:24, 1:43. The first model produced by the company was in 1:24 scale — the iconic Mercedes-Benz SSK from 1930. It was built in 1995 and has won many prestigious awards.

Every single element is carefully assembled by hand. Instruments on the dashboard are mounted separately. The seats are covered with fabric or leather. The floor lining is laid inside and in the trunk. The replicas replicate even the smallest details in accordance with the original plans of the vehicle.

The combination of German quality standards and Chinese craftsmanship allows for the perfect reproduction of unique classic cars in unparalleled quality.
