The philosophy of Berti Knives, a brand producing exceptional knives for various uses, differs from this approach. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop appears to be entirely independent of the trends that have emerged worldwide over the years. Its most important value is a commitment to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of these skilled artisans.
The founders strongly oppose the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity in the products. For this reason, their company's work philosophy places a special emphasis on the employed staff. However, this Italian family is not closed to innovations. They are very much welcomed, provided they bring elements consistent with their existing vision and can withstand years of quality testing.
Unlike others, the individual stages of knife creation are not handled by specialized sections of artisans, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
High-quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, while handles are crafted from materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, and 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that their products, despite being designed for everyday use, are treated with proper respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each piece is, after all, a small, unique artifact.
