Malabar’s furniture design originates from the Porto region in northern Portugal, an area with a long-standing tradition of handcrafted products.

What raw materials does Malabar use?

The company employs the most exclusive types of wood, including: ebony, walnut, American walnut, oak, ironwood, wenge, basswood, olive wood, bird’s eye, burl, poplar, satinwood, and ash.

Malabar also uses ancient lacquer application techniques. First, copper, gold, silver, pink, and tiger-colored leafing is applied, followed by varnishing.

The types of glass used by the manufacturer include: dark glass, smoked, gold, antique, and antique brown.
