Sartori is an Italian manufacturer born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for good design and a centuries-old tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling exquisite rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, followed by a second in Rovigo in 1920 dedicated to home furnishings. In the 1950s, when Sartori’s innovative rug designs gained popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand seized this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the world. These prestigious rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming highly sought-after items in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so significantly that it became necessary to establish headquarters in China. An important project was launched in 2008. Collaborating with Diesel S.p.a., a modern concept took shape: repurposing old rugs to create something entirely new and giving them a second life, aligned with a fresh and youthful style. This gave rise to the Vintage Patchwork Carpet, which tells a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This results in a unique and highly distinctive rug, a synthesis of noble materials that perfectly suits contemporary environments and the needs of modern furniture.
All our rugs are handcrafted entirely using high-quality noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori.
