The École Polytechnique sword, known as the “tangential”. This high-quality white weapon is a ceremonial sword by the French brand BALP used at École Polytechnique. Its name comes from the fact that it is worn tangentially to the thigh, in accordance with the red stripe of the uniform trousers.

The use of sabers and swords as parade weapons no longer justifies the use of carbon steels, which shorten the life of the blades. 24K Gold Plating: Gold plating is considered the best finish available and provides additional added value. Gold plating is a durable and non-corrosive finish, therefore it protects very well against oxidation. We use electrolytic baths, which allow us to obtain 24-carat gold plating (approximately 99.3 to 99.7% gold). Gold plating is also very resistant to fading over time. |
