Description
Deco chandelier in Venetian nut color. In good condition, this elegant Venetian chandelier dates from around 1920, made of blown glass in Venetian nut color with a delicate smoky tint, featuring six curved arms topped with upward-facing crowns and E14 lamp holders with a maximum power of 360 Watts; it has been fully electrified.
The simplicity of the shapes and the restrained decorative elements, reduced to just six pastoral arms with oval glass drops in the upper part of this elegant Murano glass chandelier, make it particularly striking. All glass surfaces are finished with fine ribbing.
In the past, two of the six cups were modified. One cup has a minor chip on the edge, see photographic details. The height refers to the chandelier's base, excluding the chain.
Beautiful antique furniture and accessories can be an excellent idea for interior decoration. Currently, there is a growing appreciation for high-quality vintage items that possess character and soul. This is a nod to history, craftsmanship, and the creation of classic and timeless furniture. There are many different styles in antique furniture, each with its distinctive features.
There are many styles characteristic of antique furniture, but a few stand out as the most important. Eclectic furniture originates from the 19th century, during the reign of the Biedermeier style. Its early 20th-century variants include neo-Gothic, Gothic, Rococo, Louis Philippe style, and the English Victorian style. By the end of the century, these styles evolved into pseudo-classicism, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.
Empire-style furniture and accessories date from the late 18th to early 19th century, inspired by Napoleon’s reign. This style features significant similarities and references to Roman and Greek ornamentation.
Neoclassical furniture reflects the Louis XVI style, which also draws heavily from ancient architecture. Antique products in Rococo and Louis XV styles are particularly interesting and noteworthy. The Baroque style, derived from the Portuguese word 'barocco'—meaning irregularly developed pearl—was characterized by highly ornate furniture meant to exude splendor and play a significant role in luxury. Materials were chosen selectively to emphasize the grandeur of these pieces.
Today, we can see how much influence the Baroque style has had on modern classical furniture, which is designed with a strong resemblance to the historical period. The Renaissance style, flourishing in the 15th and 16th centuries, also left a significant mark on furniture design. Renaissance furniture was quite heavy and robust, often using brown stains, moldings, sturdy bases, and relief decorations. These were quite distinctive products, but they also opened new possibilities, such as the construction of credenzas and broadly defined chest furniture. Mythology and ancient times also inspired these designs, with supports and legs often taking animal forms.
Lion paws, eagle heads—these are common motifs in Renaissance style. Many global brands now reproduce furniture inspired by Italian and French creators, paying homage to and preserving the history of the most beautiful Renaissance antiques. It’s important to remember that furniture styles varied by country, each with its unique character. This is especially crucial when seeking a luxurious antique that fits perfectly into your interior.
The key aspect of elite antique furniture is originality. This is ultimately important for buyers, as many counterfeits circulate on the market. Luxury Products provides documentation confirming the authenticity of each item, matching the description and photos. We also have access to art appraisers, historians, and experts from around the world.
