| Material | Colorful Silk Carpet – SARI SILK 180423, Danish brand Reza's. This is a carpet with a unique history and style. The traditional dress of Indian women is the Sari, which is made of 100% silk. It is a very colorful and patterned fabric, 9 meters long, which, when properly wrapped, creates an outfit similar to a long, loose dress. Among wealthy women, the sari is an item of clothing that is often replaced, and despite the noble material from which it is made and the craftsmanship of the design it represents, the sari is often simply thrown away. Indian carpet weavers came up with the idea to buy sari and create original carpets from them. The material is thoroughly cleaned, then cut into thin strips and sorted by color. These thin strips of silk are made into thick yarn, from which the entire carpet is then sewn using a very time-consuming and advanced weaving technique - knotting (up to 100,000 knots per m2). Thanks to the material from which it is made and the weaving technique, the carpet is pleasant to the touch, elastic and durable. In addition, it improves the acoustics of the room, and its breathable structure maintains heat while retaining dust and chemicals, thus purifying the air you breathe. |
