Sartori is an Italian company born in the heart of Veneto from a passion for good design and ancient tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling stylish rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, and then in 1920, a second in Rovigo, for home furnishings. In the 1950s, when Sartori’s innovative rug designs began gaining popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand capitalized on this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the whole world. These exciting rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so much that it required opening headquarters in China. A very important project was launched in 2008. From collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., a modern idea paved the way: using old rugs to create something completely new and give them a second life, in line with a fresh and youthful style. This is how the Vintage Patchwork Carpet was born, telling a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This results in a unique and very special rug, a blend of noble materials that perfectly fits modern environments and the needs of contemporary furniture.
Absolutely all our rugs are handcrafted entirely using exceptionally noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori. Today, Sartori is an international brand selling high-quality, valuable rugs worldwide and serving as a benchmark for Italian-designed rugs. The rugs are made from wool and banana silk.
