With pride, we present the exceptionally designer craftsmanship of Ongaro & Fuga, founded in 1954 by Franco Fuga and his wife Tullia Ongaro. The combination of these two highly creative individuals gave rise to a distinctive and fresh perspective on art. They proudly emphasize that Ongaro & Fuga is a centuries-old tradition, reviving the magic and prestigious Venetian mirrors.

Their talent was inherited by their son Julian, who continues the family traditions. Through collaboration with international artists and designers, he creates a bridge to the future. This is a great nod to family and multi-generational craftsmanship. Julian believes that every cloud or colorful Italian facade reflecting in the lagoon waters provides lively material for new projects. Many of these elite mirrors are faithful reproductions of historic pieces. Ongaro & Fuga is part of the Consorzio Promovetro di Murano – a very important consortium that is a member of Confartigianato Venezia and Confindustria Venezia. For over twenty years, they have been continuously working to strengthen the image of artistic glass to preserve and defend the thousand-year-old Murano glass art. This is an extremely important initiative that does a lot of good for cultural heritage. Ongaro and Fuga are proud of their Promovetro certification for producing their mirrors on Murano.

How is production carried out?

This is an extraordinary product in its essence. The reflection of this beauty is a very long process. Created with the work of hands, heart, and soul. That is why Ongaro and Fuga’s exquisite mirrors come at a price. The work involved often exceeds 100 hours and can include thousands of decorative elements. This is true luxury and a prime example of how strong European family workshops are. For centuries, it has been artisans who drove the evolution of the premium industry, deciding the final appearance of the product with their hands. Everything begins with a sketch on paper. Then, the glass is gradually shaped to fit the design, using very delicate and smooth diamond grinding stones. Step by step, sharpening sharp edges and smoothing out irregularities. And so, from a brilliant idea, a luxurious harmony that combines tradition with modernity is born! It’s magic—these mirrors, if they wish, will become the focal point of your interior.
