Sartori is an Italian company born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for high-quality design and a centuries-old tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling stylish rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, followed by a second in Rovigo in 1920, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, when Sartori’s innovative rug designs gained popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand seized this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the world. These prestigious rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so much that it became necessary to open a headquarters in China. A very important project was launched in 2008. From the collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., an innovative idea paved the way: using old rugs to create something entirely new and give them a second life, in line with a fresh and youthful style. This gave birth to the Vintage Patchwork Carpet, which tells a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This results in a unique and very special rug, a synthesis of noble materials that perfectly fits modern environments and the needs of contemporary furniture.
All our rugs are entirely handcrafted using high-quality noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori. Today, Sartori is an international brand that sells high-quality, valuable rugs worldwide and is a reference point for Italian-made designer rugs. The rugs are made from wool and banana silk.
