Odegard Carpets applies the highest quality standards in its production. This is not only due to selecting the best materials but also through a strong ecological awareness that influences the creation process.
Odegard Carpets emerged in the late 1980s, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship. For its production, it gladly uses Himalayan wool sourced from the fleece of local sheep. They graze at altitudes above 14,000 feet above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, which makes OC rugs more resistant to dirt.
Intense shades are the result of manual processing and dyeing. Inspiration for the rug designs comes from a combination of Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many motifs are inspired by tropical leaf shapes or the colors of the setting sun over the snowy peaks of the Himalayas.
All Odegard Carpets are handmade from carefully selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing of the wool is a completely natural process. Organic materials such as nuts, roots, or saffron are used, maintaining the highest quality standards.
