Odegard Carpets was established in the late 1980s, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship. It gladly uses Himalayan wool sourced from the fleece of local sheep. These sheep graze at over 14,000 feet above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, which makes OC carpets more resistant to dirt.
Intense shades are the result of manual processing and dyeing. Inspiration for the carpets' design comes from a combination of Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many motifs are inspired by tropical leaf shapes or the colors of the setting sun over the snowy peaks of the Himalayas.
All Odegard Carpets are handmade from carefully selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing of the wool is a completely natural process. Organic materials such as nuts, roots, or saffron are used, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
