Sartori is an Italian manufacturer born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for high-quality design combined with ancient tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling stylish rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, followed by a second in Rovigo in 1920, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, as the modern design of Sartori rugs gained popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand seized this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the world. These prestigious rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so significantly that a headquarters was established in China. An important project was launched in 2008. Following a collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., a modern concept took shape: repurposing old rugs to create something entirely new and giving them a second life, aligned with a fresh and youthful style. This gave birth to the Vintage Patchwork Carpet, which tells a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This results in a unique and very special rug, a blend of noble materials that perfectly suits contemporary environments and modern furniture needs.
All our rugs are handcrafted entirely using exceptionally noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori. Today, Sartori is an international brand selling high-quality, valuable rugs worldwide and serving as a benchmark for Italian-made designer rugs. The rugs are made from wool and banana silk.
