Description

Haller desk clock from the 1940s with a rectangular walnut veneer case, without a dial; the hands and Arabic numerals are made of brass with slight chrome plating, applied directly onto the case, which also features two holes for winding the mechanism.

Access to the mechanism is possible through the back door, where the Haller A. G. brand can be found.

The clock is not working and requires servicing; the winding key is missing.

Beautiful antique furniture and accessories can be an excellent idea for interior decoration. Today, there is a growing number of enthusiasts of high-quality vintage products that possess a distinct character and soul. This is a nod to history, craftsmanship, and the design of classic and timeless furniture. There are many different styles in antique furniture, each with its own distinctive features.

Many styles characterize antique furniture, but a few are particularly prominent. Eclectic furniture dates back to the 19th century, during the reign of the Biedermeier style. Its early variations include neo-Gothic, Gothic, Rococo, Louis-Philippe style, and finally the English Victorian style. By the end of the century, these styles evolved into pseudo-classicism, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.

Beautiful Empire-style furniture originates from the period between the late 18th and early 19th centuries. This style was influenced by Napoleon’s reign, emphasizing Roman and Greek decorative motifs.

Neoclassical furniture, associated with Louis XVI, also draws heavily from ancient architecture. Noteworthy are antique products in Rococo and Louis XV styles. Baroque, whose name derives from the Portuguese 'barocco'—meaning an irregularly developed pearl—was characterized by highly ornate, luxurious furniture designed to impress with splendor and serve as a symbol of opulence. Materials were chosen selectively to accentuate the grandeur of these pieces.

Today, we can observe how the Baroque style has significantly influenced modern classical furniture, which often closely resembles the historical period. The Renaissance style, flourishing in the 15th and 16th centuries, also left a profound mark on furniture design. Renaissance furniture was quite heavy and robust, using brown stains, moldings, strong bases, and bas-reliefs. These products were quite distinctive but also introduced new possibilities, such as the construction of cupboards and broadly defined chest furniture. Mythology and ancient themes were popular, with supports and legs often taking animal forms.

Lion’s paws and eagle heads are common features in Renaissance-style furniture. Many global brands today recreate such pieces, inspired by Italian and French artisans, as a tribute to the beauty of Renaissance antiques. It’s important to remember that each country had its own approach to furniture making, giving each style a unique character. This is especially relevant when searching for a luxurious antique that suits your interior.

The key to stylish antique furniture is originality. This is ultimately crucial for buyers, as many counterfeit products circulate on the market. Luxury Products provides documentation confirming the authenticity of each item, matching the description and photos. We also have experts, including art appraisers, historians, and specialists from around the world, available to assist you.
