The Italian company Mepra was founded in 1947, but the entrepreneurial history of the Prandelli family begins many years earlier. In 1901, brothers Bortolo, Francesco, and Giovanbattista established the first family business Prandelli in the Lumezzane valley on the banks of the Gobbia river, to harness kinetic energy from water to power machinery.

Mepra was established in 1947 by the Prandelli brothers. The first factory producing 18/10 stainless steel cutlery was built in Lumezzane. Over generations, the Prandelli family actively engaged in pursuing this passion. The products of this brand are found on the tables of the most prestigious hotels and restaurants worldwide.
