Description

Sagres is an iconic parish in southern Algarve, Portugal. This beautiful location inspired Malabar to create the contemporary Sagres sideboard.

The patterns of roses and the latitudes of nautical charts from past years symbolize the years of trial and error by fearless seafarers who honored their discoveries when they fervently found safety on the open sea and remained cautious in their journeys despite strong winds.

The impressive "solid poplar wood structure supported by gold and bronze plated steel" Sagres is perfect for modern dining rooms and gathering spaces where important decisions are made.

The Malabar brand was established in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the elegant World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory series.

Malabar has showcased its work at major international fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for industry exposure.

Malabar’s furniture production originates from the Porto area in northern Portugal, a region with a long-standing tradition of handcrafted products.

The identity of this prestigious brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.

International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted craftsmanship, and space-inspired design create an explosive mix of elegant furniture.

The various techniques used in creating natural wood products yield incredible results, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.

Vivid and bold colors dominate, significantly diverging from traditional and stereotypical furniture.

Besides wood, the manufacturer uses brass, gold and silver leaf, and other high-quality raw materials.

The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in the daring furniture designs.

The company's name is derived from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of authentic spices motivated Portuguese merchants to chart bold sea routes.

That remains true today, as Malabar continues to set highly individual boundaries in design and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, daring, and extremely exclusive.

And these are the kinds of products we love and introduce on the My Luxury Products platform.
