Description
Sagres is an iconic parish in southern Algarve in Portugal. This beautiful location inspired Malabar to create the contemporary Sagres sideboard.
Patterns of roses and latitude lines from old maritime charts symbolize years of trial and error by fearless sailors who honored their discoveries when they fervently found safety on the open sea and remained cautious in their journeys despite strong winds.
The impressive structure "crafted from solid poplar wood and supported by gold and bronze-plated steel" Sagres is perfect for modern dining rooms and gathering spaces where important decisions are made.
The Malabar brand was founded in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the elegant World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory series.
Malabar has showcased its work at major international fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for exposure.
Malabar’s furniture production comes from the Porto area, in northern Portugal, a region with a long and strong tradition of handcrafted products.
The identity of this prestigious brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.
International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted techniques, and space-inspired design create an explosive mix of elegant furniture.
Various techniques for working with natural wood produce incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.
Vivid and striking colors dominate, significantly diverging from classic and stereotypical furniture.
Besides wood, the manufacturer uses brass, gold and silver leaf, and other high-quality raw materials.
The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in bold furniture designs.
The company’s name derives from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices motivated Portuguese merchants to chart bold sea routes.
This remains true today, as Malabar continues to define highly individual design boundaries and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, daring, and extremely exclusive.
And these are exactly the kinds of products we love and feature on the My Luxury Products platform.
