Sartori is an Italian brand born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for high-quality design and ancient tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling beautiful rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, followed by a second in Rovigo in 1920, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, when Sartori's innovative rug designs started gaining popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand embraced this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the whole world. These prestigious rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so much that it required opening headquarters in China. An important project was launched in 2008. Following a collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., an innovative idea paved the way: using old rugs to create something entirely new and give them a second life, in a fresh and youthful style. This gave birth to the Vintage Patchwork Carpet, which tells a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This results in a unique and very special rug, a son of noble materials that perfectly fits modern environments and the needs of contemporary furniture.
Absolutely all our rugs are handcrafted entirely from exceptionally noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori. Today, Sartori is an international manufacturer selling high-quality, valuable rugs worldwide and serving as a benchmark for Italian-made designer rugs. The rugs are made from wool and banana silk.
