Winner of the Pritzker Prize in 2013, architect Toyo Ito is a renowned designer who inspired the creation of the Dynasty Display Stand. Toyo Ito aims for a light and transparent aesthetic. Malabar was founded in 2012, launching a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the stylish World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory collections.

Malabar's furniture production originates from the Porto region in northern Portugal, an area with a long-standing tradition of handcrafted products.

What raw materials does Malabar use?

The brand employs the most exclusive types of wood, including: ebony, walnut, American walnut, oak, ironwood, elm, basswood, olive wood, bird's eye, burl, poplar, satinwood, and ash.

Malabar also applies ancient lacquer techniques, first laying down sheets of copper, gold, silver, pink, or tiger-colored leaf, followed by varnishing.

The types of glass used by the manufacturer include: dark glass, smoked, gold, antique, and antique brown.

The marble varieties are diverse, including: Sahara, Gray Kenzo, Nero Marquina, Portoro, Gris Douro, Black Gold, Guatemala Verde, Tiger Skin, Ochre, Calacatta Vagli, Estremoz, Carrara Gold, Carrara, White Extremez, and Travertine.

Metals are selected based on efficiency and quality, with high-grade premium metals such as copper, stainless steel, and galvanized steel.
