Description
Large chandelier with 12 lights made of blown glass, early 20th century This elegant Venetian-style chandelier with 12 blown glass lights, crafted by masters of Venetian glass art from the early 20th century, is a unique and refined work of art, perfect for prestigious rooms such as salons and dining rooms. The antique Murano chandelier has been thoroughly restored, preserving not only its aesthetic qualities but also its functionality. The electrical components have been modernized by installing new wiring, while retaining the original white opal glass candles, and the gipsy anchors have been replaced.
The central stem supports twelve curved arms ending in upward-facing crowns with miniature E14 bulbs; the cup is richly decorated with elegant floral elements and tall, leafy details in a delicate straw-yellow, champagne color that emphasizes the transparency of the glass. The chain and canopy will be custom-made depending on the ceiling height to ensure a perfect fit to the surroundings.
With a maximum power of 500 W, this chandelier not only illuminates but also enriches the atmosphere of the rooms it is placed in, becoming a truly exceptional and captivating element.
Beautiful antique furniture and accessories can be an excellent idea for interior decoration. Today, there is an increasing number of enthusiasts of high-quality vintage products that have a distinct character and soul. It is a nod to history, craftsmanship, and the creation of traditional and timeless furniture. There are many different styles in antique furniture, each with its own distinctive features.
Many styles characterize antique furniture, but a few are particularly notable. Eclectic furniture dates back to the 19th century, during the reign of the Biedermeier style. Its early 20th-century variants include neo-Gothic, Gothic, Rococo, Louis-Philippe style, and the Victorian style. By the end of the century, these styles evolved into pseudo-classicism, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.
Beautiful Empire-style furniture originates from the period between the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It was influenced by Napoleon’s reign, which imposed a significant resemblance to Roman and Greek ornamentation.
Neoclassical furniture reflects the Louis XVI style, which also strongly references ancient architecture. Noteworthy are antique products in Rococo and Louis XV styles. The next is Baroque, derived from the Portuguese word barocco – meaning irregularly developed pearl. These were highly decorative pieces designed to shine with splendor and play a significant role in luxury. Selectively used materials were employed to further emphasize the grandeur of these items.
Today, we can observe how much the Baroque style influenced modern classical furniture, which is designed with a strong resemblance to the historical epoch. An important style is also Renaissance, which flourished in the 15th and 16th centuries and left a significant mark on furniture-making art. Renaissance furniture was quite heavy and massive, often using brown stains, cornices, sturdy bases, and reliefs. These products were quite distinctive but also opened new possibilities, such as the construction of credenzas and broadly speaking, chest furniture. They also reflected an interest in mythology and ancient times, with supports and legs taking animal forms.
Lion paws, eagle heads – these are common motifs in Renaissance style. Currently, many global brands reproduce such furniture, inspired by Italian and French craftsmen. This is a sign of admiration and respect for the history of the most beautiful Renaissance antiques. It’s important to remember that each country perceived furniture production differently, so each style had its unique character in each nation. This is especially important when searching for a luxurious antique that suits your interior.
