This is a unique design created in the imagination of Giampaolo Barbin. It incorporates the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian glassmaking families.
iMuranesi products are unique thanks to the synergy of many equally important elements. These include the harmony of detail, the use of innovative manufacturing methods, sophisticated and modern design, and strong collaboration between top designers and glassmakers.
iMuranesi is now a popular international company that combines modernity with the traditional values of Murano glass.
However, behind this designer model lies a tradition dating back to medieval times, when the Republic of Venice authorities decided to concentrate all glassmakers in one place. To this day, its name is recognized worldwide, and the glass originating from there continues to enchant crowds.
The Barbin family is one of the respected medieval families. These glassmakers have left their mark on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, by order of the Consiglio dei Dieci council, the Barbin clan was included in the Golden Book of Notable Murano Society, which lists the most distinguished glassmakers.
The family was then granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be seen today in the Glass Museum on the island of Murano.
