The company was established in 1987, revolutionizing the traditional weaving craft. It often uses Himalayan wool from local sheep for production. These sheep graze at over 14,000 feet above sea level, and their wool is rich in lanolin. This special feature makes OC rugs more resistant to dirt.
Vivid colors result from manual processing and dyeing. Inspirations for creating rugs include a mix of Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many motifs are inspired by tropical leaf shapes or the spectacle of the setting sun over the Himalayan peaks.
All Odegard Carpets products are handmade from silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is entirely natural, utilizing organic materials such as nuts, roots, and saffron, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
