Odegard Carpets was founded in 1987, revolutionizing the traditional world of weaving craftsmanship. It uses Himalayan wool for production. This wool comes from sheep grazing at altitudes above 4200 meters above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, which makes OC rugs more stain-resistant.
Beautiful colors are the result of manual processing and dyeing. Inspirations for the rug designs include Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and – as in this case – nature. Many patterns are inspired by tropical leaf shapes or the hues of the setting sun over the Himalayas.
All Odegard Carpets products are handmade from carefully selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is entirely natural. Only organic materials (nuts, roots, or saffron) are used, maintaining the highest quality.
