Sartori is an Italian manufacturer born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for high-quality design and a long tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling beautiful rugs in Verona, opening his first shop, followed by a second in Rovigo in 1920, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, when Sartori’s innovative rug designs started gaining popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand embraced this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the whole world. These elegant rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so significantly that it became necessary to open headquarters in China. A very important project was launched in 2008. Building on collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., this innovative idea paved the way: using old rugs to create something entirely new and giving them a second life, in a fresh and youthful style. This is how the Vintage Patchwork Carpet was born, telling a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This results in a unique and very special rug, a synthesis of noble materials that perfectly fits modern environments and contemporary furniture needs.
