The company was founded in 1987, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship. It chooses Himalayan wool from the fleece of local sheep for production. These sheep graze at altitudes above 14,000 feet above sea level, and their wool is rich in lanolin. This special feature makes Odegard Carpets rugs more resistant to dirt.
Beautiful colors result from manual processing and dyeing. Inspiration for the rug designs comes from combining Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many motifs are inspired by tropical leaf shapes or the spectacle of the setting sun over the majestic Himalayas.
All rugs of this brand are handmade from carefully selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is entirely natural, using organic materials (nuts, roots, or saffron), while maintaining the highest quality standards.
