The brand was launched in 1987, revolutionizing the traditional world of weaving craftsmanship. It often chooses Himalayan wool for its production. This wool comes from the fleece of local sheep grazing at over 4,200 meters above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, which makes Odegard Carpets rugs more resistant to dirt.
Interesting colors result from manual processing and dyeing. Inspiration for creating the rugs combines Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many motifs are inspired by the shapes of tropical leaves or the shades of the setting sun over the peaks of the majestic Himalayas.
All Odegard Carpets products are handmade from highly selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is 100% natural. Only organic materials are used, including nuts, roots, and saffron.
