The brand was launched in 1987, revolutionizing the traditional weaving craft industry. They often choose Himalayan wool for production. It comes from the fleece of local sheep grazing at over 4,200 meters above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, which makes Odegard Carpets rugs more resistant to dirt.
Interesting colors are the result of manual processing and dyeing. Inspirations for creating the rugs include a combination of Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many motifs are inspired by the shapes of tropical leaves or the shades of the setting sun over the majestic Himalayas.
All Odegard Carpets products are handmade from highly selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is 100% natural. Only organic materials are used, such as nuts, roots, or saffron.
