The company was established in the late 1980s, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship. It selects Himalayan wool from sheep grazing at over 14,000 feet above sea level for its production. Their wool is rich in lanolin, making their rugs more resistant to dirt.
Vivid colors are the result of manual processing and dyeing. Inspirations for the rug designs include Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, and architecture. Many patterns are inspired by tropical leaf shapes or the colors of the sunset over the Himalayas.
All Odegard Carpets products are handcrafted from highly selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. Wool dyeing is a 100% natural process that uses organic materials (nuts, roots, or saffron), while maintaining the highest quality standards.
