The beginnings of Warp & Weft's New York operation date back to 2001. It was then that Michael Mandapati decided to establish a company unlike any other. Himalayan wool, mulberry silk, nettles, hemp, and linen are among the materials used to make the rugs. Plants also play an important role in the dyeing process, which will surely appeal to those who care about the environment and eco-friendly processing methods.
Each product is made in Nepal, where highly talented workers craft them by hand. The rugs are then transported to Switzerland, where they are finished to achieve their final appearance. Thanks to a higher content of lanolin, they are softer, more stain-resistant, and gain a beautiful sheen.
