The company began its operations in 1987, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship. It gladly uses Himalayan wool sourced from the fleece of local sheep for production. They graze at altitudes above 4200 meters above sea level, and their wool is rich in lanolin. This special feature makes OC rugs more resistant to stains.
Interesting shades are the result of manual processing and dyeing. Inspirations for the rug designs come from Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and – as in this case – nature. Many patterns are inspired by the shapes of tropical leaves or the spectacle of the sun setting over the snowy peaks of the Himalayas.
All Odegard Carpets products are handmade from carefully selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is entirely natural. Organic materials are used, such as nuts, roots, or saffron, while maintaining the highest quality.
