The chassis 3729GT was delivered in 1962 to the great British racing team owner John Coombs and driven by the most prominent drivers in the 1962 and 1963 seasons, including Roy Salvadori, Graham Hill, Mike Parkes, Mike McDowell, Mike Salmon, Jack Sears, and Richie Ginther. Coombs also promoted a campaign regarding the right-hand drive 250 GTO model on world-famous circuits such as Brands Hatch, Goodwood, Silverstone, Mallory Park, Snetterton, and others.
It was then briefly raced by the new owner, Viscount Portman, before being withdrawn from contemporary racing. Among subsequent owners was its original driver Jack Sears, who kept chassis 3729 from 1970 until selling it to the current American owner. Achievements on chassis 3729GT include multiple second-place finishes in OA rankings, as well as class wins in both first and second places. M-251 is nothing other than chassis 3729GT, which Graham Hill raced to finish in 2nd place in OA Class and 2nd in GT at Goodwood on August 18, 1962, with starting number 10.
