Japanese brand Platinum's fountain pen from the 3776 Century Decade collection, limited edition.
The 3776 collection was introduced in 1978. It was a joint project between Platinum and Haruo Umeda, a writer and collector of fountain pens. The name 3776 refers to the height of Mount Fuji, Japan's highest peak.
Thirty-three years later, in 2011, the 3776 Century collection was launched. It already featured the innovative “Slip & Seal” mechanism that prevents ink from drying out. To celebrate this milestone— the 10th anniversary of the 3776 Century collection— Platinum created a special limited edition called “Decade”. Only 3,776 pieces of this fountain pen were made, each with its own unique number.
This collection symbolizes the history of development and innovation of the Platinum brand. It is a journey from the past to the present of 3776 CENTURY. The fountain pen features a special surface characteristic of the 1978 3776 model.
Maintaining the visual impression of the original design, the cap has an almost flat crown, exuding a nostalgic and elegant character. The 10th-anniversary commemorative logo is placed on the top of the cap, while the individual pen number is engraved on its lower part. The fountain pen is equipped with a newly designed 14-karat gold nib.
In a beautiful anniversary box, you'll also find a gold-plated converter, a starter ink cartridge in navy blue, and a special 20ml ink bottle.
The ink color is inspired by the night sky over Mount Fuji, which shifts to a reddish hue during sunrise.
