Materials of the highest quality combined with a rich history create the synonym of Seltmann factory. Founded in 1910, the company "Porzellanfabriken Christian Seltmann" (Seltmann Weiden) transformed into a group of enterprises through the acquisition of "Königlich Privierte Porzellanfabrik Tettau" (Königlich Tettau) along with four specialized porcelain manufacturers and an art department established in 1990 and 1995 as a family business. In five factories, approximately 800 employees produce excellent porcelain for households, hotels, and the hospitality industry. Another goal is the production of particularly original figurines and gifts.

Thanks to the Königlich Tettau porcelain factory (the oldest porcelain factory in Bavaria), the Seltmann Group has over 200 years of experience in porcelain production. The renowned naturalist Alexander von Humboldt fought for the establishment of the manufactory. This took place in 1794 under the privilege of Prussian King Frederick William II.

Even longer tradition in porcelain craftsmanship (almost 250 years) can be found at the site of the oldest still-operating porcelain factory in Thuringia in Rudolstadt / Volkstedt. The “Oldest Volkstedt Porcelain Manufactory” was expanded in 2007 into a “translucent porcelain manufactory,” and four factories with an art department in Volkstedt were merged “under one roof.” Quarzsandwerke Weissenbrunn supplies high-quality raw materials and ready-made masses for the ceramic industry and is part of the corporate group.

As one of the few porcelain producers operating worldwide, the Seltmann Group possesses exceptionally broad know-how in manufacturing: from high-tech production in one of the most modern porcelain factories in Europe to pure craftsmanship in factories (located in Rudolstadt / Thuringia).
