In accordance with the groundbreaking tradition established in the past by CMC models in 1:12 scale, the C-009 model will have a handcrafted copper casing with a full range of functional parts, including the engine hood, trunk lid, doors, and wheels, which can open or extend, revealing detailed intricacies beneath — the precise complexity of the model.

Originally, the 8C 2900B was built for the 24-hour Le Mans race in 1938. It was equipped with a closed body (Berlinetta), designed by Touring specialists based on their expertise in aerodynamics and lightweight construction — patented technology known as Superleggera (aluminum frame). The 8-cylinder inline engine with 220 HP, along with necessary accessories, made the car fully prepared for night-time Le Mans racing.

Despite a significant advantage during the race, the 8C was unable to finish. A tire blowout and subsequent valve failure ended the pursuit of a seemingly certain victory. Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 was equipped with “highly advanced chassis and running gear with features that were absolutely revolutionary for their time,” and that “Touring bodies on the Alfetta 2.9 were undoubtedly the most advanced car bodies of their era” (Malcolm Harris in The Immortal 2.9 by Simon Moore).
