In accordance with the groundbreaking tradition established in the past by CMC models at a 1:12 scale, the C-009 model will feature a handcrafted copper body with a full range of functional parts, including the engine hood, trunk lid, doors, and wheels, which can open or extend to reveal detailed components underneath — showcasing the intricate complexity of the model.

Originally, the 8C 2900B was built for the 24-hour Le Mans race in 1938. It was equipped with a closed body (Berlinetta), designed by Touring specialists based on their expertise in aerodynamics and lightweight construction — patented technology known as Superleggera (aluminum frame). The 8-cylinder inline engine with 220 HP, along with necessary accessories, made the car fully prepared for night-time Le Mans racing.

Despite a significant advantage during the race, the 8C was unable to finish. A tire burst and subsequent valve failure ended the pursuit of a seemingly certain victory. Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 was equipped with “highly advanced chassis and suspension features that were absolutely revolutionary for their time” and that “Touring bodies on the Alfa 2.9 were undoubtedly the most advanced car bodies of their era” (Malcolm Harris in The Immortal 2.9 by Simon Moore).
