Ancient miniature on ivory. Portrait of a lady signed "Bachini". The girl is depicted from the waist up in a blue dress with a wide neckline that reveals her shoulders. The portrayed young woman undoubtedly belongs to the aristocratic or wealthy class, probably from southern Italy in the early decades of the 19th century, also considering the Bourbon-made jewelry, the precious gemstones framing her face, a complete set of earrings, and a diadem at the center of her intricate hairstyle, which gathers soft blond curls.

The miniature has been beautifully painted on a 7.4 cm diameter ivory plaque and is signed Bacchini in the lower right corner. 

It is presented in a round gilded bronze frame decorated with geometric motifs; the entire piece is set in a square ebonized wood frame. 

The miniature comes from a private collection in Milan and is in good condition, with only minimal paint retouching matching the dress, consistent with the dating of the early 19th century.
