Description

"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you." This is a tribute to Frank Lloyd Wright, an undisputed name in global architecture. Malabar pays homage by presenting the modern Waterlily mirror, a piece distinguished by its originality and sobriety.

With 15 reflective surfaces resembling "lily pads," Waterlily is an organic, contemporary mirror that effortlessly evokes nature in luxurious hallways.

Three modern decorative surfaces made from ironwood adorn this contemporary mirror, adding the finishing touch to an art piece that perfectly fits environments seeking inspiration from nature.

The Malabar brand was established in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the World Architects collection of elegant furniture. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory collections.

Malabar has left its mark at the most prestigious international fairs, such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing.

Malabar’s design originates from Porto, in northern Portugal, a region with a long and strong tradition of handcrafted products.

The identity of this luxury brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.

International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted work, and space-inspired design create an explosive mix of luxurious furniture.

Various techniques of working with natural wood produce incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.

Juicy and vivid hues dominate, significantly diverging from classic and stereotypical furniture.

Besides wood, the brand uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.

The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in bold furniture designs.

The company’s name derives from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a daring sea route.

This remains true today, as Malabar continues to define highly individual design boundaries and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, bold, and extremely exclusive.

And these are exactly the kinds of products we love to feature on the My Luxury Products platform.

What raw materials does Malabar use?

The company employs the most refined types of wood, including: ebony, walnut, American walnut, oak, ironwood, elm, basswood, olive wood, bird’s eye, irregular grain, poplar, satinwood, and ash.

Malabar also uses ancient lacquer techniques. First, copper, gold, silver, pink, or tiger-colored leaf is applied, then lacquered.

The types of glass used by the manufacturer include: dark glass, smoked, gold, antique, and antique brown.

The marble varieties are diverse, including: Sahara, Gray Kenzo, Nero Marquina, Portoro, Gris Douro, Black Gold, Guatemala Verde, Tiger’s Eye, Ochre, Calacatta Vagli, Estremoz, Carrara gold, Carrara, White Extremez, and travertine.

Metals are selected based on efficiency and quality. High-quality premium metals such as copper, stainless steel, and galvanized steel are used. Specifically, chrome, nickel-plated black brass, polished brass, gold-plated brass, polished copper, antique brass, silver brass, brushed brass, polished brass, and hammered polished copper.

We are happy to arrange a meeting and present all available materials about the Malabar brand. Our Luxury Products team will advise and select the most suitable furnishings and accessories for your interiors.
