The philosophy of Berti Knives, a producer of exclusive knives for various purposes, differs from this approach. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop seems to be completely independent of the trends that have taken place worldwide over the years. Its core value is fidelity to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of these Italian artisans.
The owners strongly oppose the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the products. For this reason, their company's philosophy places special emphasis on the employed staff. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to any changes. Changes are very welcome, provided they do not conflict with the current vision and can withstand years of quality testing.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife production are not carried out by specialized groups of workers but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, and handles include materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, and 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that their products, although intended for everyday use, be treated with proper respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each piece is, after all, a small, unique work of art.
